I bought two of these desks as Christmas presents for my grandchildren - a white one for my 5 year old granddaughter and an oak one for my 3 1/2 year old grandson. I was a little concerned with many aspects of ordering these. First, they are not inexpensive to buy sight unseen, and if you do not like them, [...]Finally, upon reading the reviews, I was worried that my granddaughter may be a little on the 'old' side for this small desk, but as she already has everything you could imagine, I felt that even if she outgrew it after a year, it would still be better than spending more money on things she already had. I also worried that my grandson might be a bit young, but knew that at the very least he would 'grow' into his. [...] My husband put them together (he probably had them both assembled within a couple of hours and only had minor difficulties), and they were better than I had hoped for - well-made, sturdy, and all the little drawers and cubbies were adorable (by the way, the rolltops worked perfectly). I was very impressed!! Prior to the 'opening of gifts' I loaded each of their desks with a desk lamp, tape dispenser, stapler, numerous notepads, envelopes, post-it notes, pens, pencils, scissors, erasers, etc.., and just about everything that I could think of to put in a desk and then I put a big bow on each one. To say that these presents were the 'hit' of the day is an understatement - they absolutely loved their 'rolltop' desks. They spent all day writing notes, taping, gluing, cutting, etc., and then spent even more time putting all their things back into the proper 'cubbie' in their desk.My grandson enjoys his desk, but he is only 3 1/2 and right now is more into his cars and trains than his desk. My granddaughter, however, absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVES hers!! She uses it every day writing notes, drawing pictures and doing her "schoolwork", then meticulously puts everything back in its' proper place. She is not even close to being 'too big' for it and I know she will have a couple of years of constant enjoyment with it. Very rarely does [$] go so far!!Many thanks to "Childrens Desk" for selling something you cannot easily find: an affordable, quality, practical, fun 'toy' for our little ones!!I very highly recommend !!

This was a Christmas gift for my 3 year old nephew my mom told me to look online and so i googled childrens wooden desks, I saw several sites and decided to click on Hayneedle site not only was desk nice looking a roll top desk but the price was good and it would arrive in time for Christmas I was told it would arrive on the 18th and came in on the 14th was well surprised and it it perfect for a 3 yr old he just loves it and says it is like his mom and dads but better! Out of the mouths of babe!
