This two-piece set is an office itself, thanks to multifunctional storage and electrical power and phone components. And its elegant detail and two-tone finish add a little modernity to its traditional sophistication.

The desk and hutch each are crafted from super-durable hardwood solids and cherry veneers, finished in a rich black rub-through with warm brown highlights underneath. The wood-finished top, hand-painted accents, shapely turned legs, and antique-inspired hardware amp up the vintage vibe.

The desk's four drawers on smooth slides include one file drawer, two utility drawers with partitions (the top drawer has a handy drop-in sectioned tray for supplies), and a top drop-front drawer for keyboards or laptops. The spacious desktop also has room for PCs and laptops, along with a built-in power with two grounded electrical outlets accessible from the center drawer. Also at your fingertips are built-in high-speed data ports, a phone jack, and USB upstream and downstream connectivity. A smooth finished back butts up neatly against walls, and built-in levelers keep it steady.

The coordinating hutch's top section boasts two double-hinged, wraparound doors that reveal either two adjustable/removable shelves for storage or the thick back panel alone for a mounted plasma or LCD TV. Below, the left storage area has two drawers and three slotted file compartments and the right side has two drawers, a charging station with three electrical outlets, and three slotted compartments for phones, cameras, and portable music players. A task light in the center illuminates the desktop.
