I'm a budget shopper, but as they say, if you don't spend the money now to get something a bit better the first time you purchase something, you'll regret it when your first purchase falls apart.

That said, I'm a cheapskate. But I wanted a nice desk that would last for years. This is looking promising. The construction is very sturdy.. It was nearly all put together when it came in the box, I just had to do the legs pretty much. Beautiful finish on the Desk, its gorgeous and dark. The drawers are cute.

Also, there is a built in power block in the center behind that laptop, on the bottom. Its got one large plug, that runs into the wall. On the back of the desk is a spot to plug something in, and a pass-through ports for telephone, LAN(or network cable), two USB ports, a larger usb port similar to a printer plug. On the inside of the desk, there are two more plugs, and the other sides of the three usb, telephone and network cable ports. THis is so you can have things permentantly plugged into your desk, and have short wires on the other side to plug into your laptop for a much much cleaner look, THis also prevents having to search around for fallen wires everywhere.

THe slideout for the laptop is quite nice. Also, the flip-down is a nice feature, but for the most part you can't use it to hide much, cause it wont shut all the way if theres anything underneath it.

All in all, it'll suit my purposes, its a gorgeous desk, and its pretty unique. I like it.

I needed something compact where my husband could "drop" all of his stuff after he gets home from work. The desk has built-in electrical sockets, which makes it easy to recharge gadgets. The flip-down top is also great for concealing any messes when company comes. The shelf underneath accommodates decorative boxes for anything left over. Not to mention, it looks great in the room! Assembly was a snap.

Nice looking and great size which makes it convenient for many areas of use. Unfortunately, if you were planning to keep your laptop plugged in and on the console desk , you can't close the top. This was the one feature I wanted, to be able to close the top and have everything out of sight!
